The conference is dedicated to advanced object-oriented
concepts and technologies in general with emphasis on the use of Smalltalk and Java.
Focusing on Smalltalk and Java was not only motivated by the fact that they are relevant
object-oriented programming languages. Furthermore, both languages have been used within
many ambitious projects both in industry and in universities.
The conference aims at providing a forum for researchers, students and practitioners to
meet, present their research and experience, and exchange ideas. While the majority of
participants will still come from Germany, the number of participants from other countries
is expected to increase. Therefore the conference is bilingual: Presentations may be given
both in English and German.
