Final program announced: The final program is available online in the conference schedule section here.

Hello Holonic Friends!

I would like to bring to your attention a Workshop on Holonic Enterprises - that I organize at the upcoming Net-Object Days International Conference to be held October 7-10, 2002 in Erfurt, Germany. (http://www.netobjectdays.org/node02/en/index.html).

As you are no doubt aware - the holonic concept has taken flight far beyond the HMS Consortium's borders - and this is both positive and not so positive. Especially the fact that the concept is so much misused by opportunists doesn't do a good deal to us all - the veterans. Therefore the main purpose of the Workshop that I organize is to reclaim in a broad international context the HMS Consortium ownership of what is truly holonic technology. The success of the Workshop's Mission depends on your involvement and active participation.

The Workshop will embrace the holonic enterprise in all its dimensions in three Sessions corresponding to the three levels of resolution of global manufacturing production:

1. Holonic Supply Chain Management
2. Planning and Scheduling of Holonic Production
3. Holonic Control of Intelligent Machines

The best contributions to this Workshop will become invited chapters in an upcoming Springer Verlag book.

If you plan to contribute to this Workshop please send me the title of your contribution asap. The deadline that I have set for paper submission is June 20 (via email to me).

An official Call for Papers for this Workshop will be posted on the Conference website asap (after the HMS meeting where Dr. Gruver will set up the Technical Program Committee for this Workshop.)

I look forward to hear from you all!

With best wishes for a succesful HMS meeting I remain,

Truly Yours,

Mihaela Ulieru
